In New South Wales law, persons who get injured in a motor vehicle accident may be eligible to make personal injury compensation claims in certain circumstances. However, the person making the compensation claim should be able to show that another person, who is a driver or owner of a vehicle, was partially or completely responsible for the accident. If the person making the claim also contributed to the accident and injuries, the amount recoverable as compensation may be reduced. In addition, New South Wales law allows children as well as the persons who get injured in blameless accidents to receive compensation.
