Now, don't get me wrong. I get no satisfaction at the thought of people dying nor do I advocate immigration being curtailed. It's just that that's a lot of people and the majority of those, roughly 75 percent, are people of driving age. In fact, more than 41,000,000 people get speeding tickets every year in the United States. That equals roughly 17 percent of the driving population.

Florida Revamps Child Safety Restraint Law

Thu, 15 Jan 2015 14:21:31 -0600

There is very little that will cause as much heartache to a parent as seeing his or her child hurt. When a child sustains an injury as the result of a traffic accident that occurs while the parent is driving, the guilt can be overwhelming. Even if the parent is not at fault in the accident, second-guessing whether or not there was something that he or she could have done to have avoided injury to the child or children can be distressing.

Tips for Traffic Stop Etiquette

Tue, 06 Jan 2015 07:37:57 -0600

No, this article is not going to be about which fork to use when you go to your mother-in-law's house for a holiday meal. I am certainly no Miss Manners so I may not be able to offer you the best advice about table manners. As a traffic ticket attorney, however, I can tell you that I have known some clients who behave inappropriately when they get pulled over and this behavior usually costs them heavily in court.

Variable Speed Signs On Motorways - Are They Effective?

Mon, 05 Jan 2015 15:30:22 -0600

Speed signs on highways and roads are a common occurrence in nations across the globe. Their basic use is to control and manage traffic speed and make the roads much safer for pedestrians, passengers and motorists alike.

A Few Methods to Avoid Speeding Tickets

Tue, 30 Dec 2014 09:41:24 -0600

The State of Florida strongly advocates that every law enforcement agency within the state should write as many speeding tickets as it has speeders. Granted, this directive is under the guise of public safety, but I think most of us can agree that it is really just a profit-generating practice to help meet budgetary shortfalls. Although the issuance of speeding tickets is a multi-million dollar industry, there are ways that you can avoid being just another cog in this for-profit machine.

Debunking Popular Speeding Ticket Defense Myths

Tue, 30 Dec 2014 09:40:49 -0600

It's funny how when it comes to getting a speeding ticket it seems like everyone you know has some tidbit of advice about what you should or shouldn't do. It doesn't matter what the circumstances are surrounding the issuance of your traffic ticket, I assure you someone will tell you how he or she thinks you should proceed. This is GREAT if the person giving you the advice is a good traffic ticket attorney.

Driving Under The Influence (DUI) Is Still A Charge You Can Fight

Thu, 11 Dec 2014 09:28:20 -0600

You should always try to challenge a driving under the influence (DUI) charge. In New Jersey DUI is covered by N.J.S.A. 39:4-50. The statute requires the state to prove 1) you operated a motor vehicle; 2) that you were under the influence of alcohol, a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) such as heroin or methamphetamines, or even your own prescription for Oxycodone, Percocet, Xanax or other medications which could impair your ability to operate a motor vehicle; and 3) that your ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired. In their effort to prove their case and convict you of driving under the influence the police will employ many pieces of evidence which you should seek to challenge.

Yes, You Can Beat Your Speeding Ticket

Tue, 09 Dec 2014 11:39:25 -0600

The number of people in the United States who get speeding tickets every year is astounding. It is estimated that this year alone will result in over 35 million speeding tickets being issued, and more than 10% of those will be distributed right here in the Sunshine State. Remarkably, 95% of these speeding tickets will not even be contested, which I find surprising because there can be so many ways that a good traffic attorney can fight your Broward County traffic ticket.

Move Over Law and the Sometime Tragic Consequences of Helping Others

Tue, 09 Dec 2014 11:37:30 -0600

I am sure that we can all agree that breaking down on the side of the road sucks, but it is bound to happen to most of us if we drive long enough. Don't think that a fancy new car always ensures this doesn't happen to you. It doesn't only occur to people who drive clunkers or to those who think they can squeeze another five miles out of the gas in their tank.
