If a defective product that is unreasonably dangerous or unsafe causes injury to a person, the injured person may be able to recover damages from the person that designed, manufactured, sold, distributed, leased or furnished the defective product. The law governing such claims is often known as product liability law. The word “product” may have different meanings, but product liability may arise in relation to tangible personal property. For instance, if products such as electronic equipment, food items, home appliances, furniture or apparel are defective and cause injury the end user, a cause of action may arise for the injured person
