I recently accepted a job and accepted the job based on many false and misleading statements, many of which I have in writing. I accepted the job based on the information and forfeited a bonus of over 20k. After a few days at the new company I realize it was all lies and quit and went back to my old firm.

Do I have any recourse in getting the firm who lied to me my lost bonus back.

Secondly, on the day I terminated the relationship I received my last direct deposit. This was on a Friday. I noticed over the weekend the payroll company the firm uses attempted to make a second smaller depost and a subsequent withdrawal which is illegal in Illinois. I placed a fraud alert on my account and the attempt was denied. I never gave authorization for the withdrawal, which is required under IL state law and was never given a reason why they attempted to withdraw the money.

Can anyone offer any advice based on the scenario above?

Thanks.
