The Ministers of States and territories responsible administration of Australian Consumer Laws may also impose bans on consumer goods and product related services from time to time. However, State and territory ministers can impose temporary bans only. A temporary ban will last 60 days and after the expiration of first 60 days, it can be extended to another 60 days. The bans imposed by State and territory ministers are applicable to their respective States or territories only. Since bans are of temporary nature, there is no need to notify the relevant suppliers in writing or give them an opportunity to call a conference before the ban is imposed.
