A lot has been said about lawyers who fought a good fight in terms of promoting confidentiality over mandates of the government or the society to disclose details of cases. These are subject to much controversy and at times, the State does demand disclosure. Prioritizing confidentiality over the demands of the public is a choice among law practitioners which most of us seldom appreciate and this is also the reason why a lot of people dislike lawyers. This is, however, merely part of the lawyer’s job.
