In contemporary society, substantial commercial value attaches to intangible intellectual property rights. A knowledge of Intellectual Property law is therefore increasingly crucial in commercial practice. This Unit explores the three main regimes of Intellectual Property (Copyright, Patents and Trade Marks) in a wide range of commercial contexts, including the music, literary and visual arts industries; internet and information technology; protection for scientific, pharmaceutical and engineering innovations and protection of brands and merchandising indicia. The Unit also highlights international developments along with recent. Optional items can be utilized toward obtaining an additional authorized sub-major (40 credit points). UWS gives sub-majors in a selection of places including Indigenous and Sustainability Studies.
We are also seeking ways to maximise uniformity in approaches to workplace involvement between Employment and Career Development and student organizations in order to minimise stakeholder confusion within and outside the university. We are facilitating the link between companies and business representatives and student organizations by increasing and improving information exchange between parties. By normal face to face, phone and electronic communication we're giving, updating and sharing information on all professions related functions for 2012 with the goal of preventing clashes. We are encouraging student organizations to take joint initiative with Employment and Career Development for employer centered, career related activities within Monash University.

This unit examines the different means in which the law protects workplace safety in Australia. The main emphasis will be on the work health and safety regulatory framework and its main plan. The haphazard nature of standard-setting in the early techniques of safety regulation is compared with later legislative models. The processes of these legislative tactics are illustrated by a group of selected issues relating to modern health threats in workplaces. Students will also examine issues surrounding compliance and enforcement and corporate governance in the safety situation. Other subjects include personnel compensation and employment law.
Greening Australia is enthusiastic about preserving and rebuilding healthy and tough eco-systems to re-create wildlife corridors and reconcile landscapes. They offer practical hands-on solutions that enhance river health, save and restore biodiversity and support sustainable agriculture. They strive to engage with companions and local communities to empower involvement and deliver real and sustainable environmental outcomes. The Queensland Public Interest Law Clearing House Incorporated (QPILCH) is a not-for-profit community-based legal organisation that co-ordinates offering pro bono legal services for people and community groups. DibbsBarker is a person in QPILCH and a firm in QPILCH’s Self Representation Service at the District and Supreme Courts complicated and at QCAT.
This system views different legal issues related to health and medicine. This area of law is fairly new and continually developing and expanding. This system is primarily concerned with how law has and must react to different health challenges. These include State protection of the community from death and disease (for example immunisation, quarantine, disease outbreaks such as AIDS and Aboriginal health), individual rights, (for example privacy, access to information and individual rights) mental illness (including civil commitment and skill to make choices) and technological advances. The Unite union seeks legal advice about whether the Home Office “incited racial hatred” by utilizing vans to promote illegal immigrants to “go home”.
This Unit examines different aspects of law relating to the advertising. The laws of defamation, contempt, solitude and the laws dealing with forbidden journals, including those concerning vilification, obscenity and sedition, form the central content of the Unit. The Unit also examines the policy rationales required in security of free speech with a selection of other interests in the context of legal restrictions on press freedom. Investigation of the application of current media law rules to new systems will also be featured throughout the Unit. Provided these measurements contain additional depth in relation to inner costs, some are not directly comparable with data presented in previous years.
