The MCLAS is located in the Adelaide Magistrates Court and is staffed by final-year law students from the University of Adelaide. Under the direction of legal practitioners, students give legal advice in relation to small civil claims that do not exceed $12,000. Each year the MCLAS offers countless hours of pro-bono legal work to aid those that would normally be unassisted. The University of Adelaide Law School established the MCLAS in recognition that community-driven and available legal services should remain a basis of our community and that the Service has an unique educational experience for students.

Early in June 2012, not able to secure an attorney due to the time limitation concern, I lodged a Claim and Statement of Claim in Supreme Court contrary to the surgeon. Just like the claim against the Board and AHPRA, my presentation was metaphorically torn to shreds. I did not provide a cohesive argument for increasing the limitation and the Judge dismissed the claim. Nevertheless a comprehensive listing of reasons was provided, some encouraging for the merits of the state, so I addressed the problems and appealed the decision — which is still pending.
