New South Wales accident compensation law provides for payment of lost earnings when a person is injured in a motor vehicle accident. However, there are certain limitations applicable to claims for lost earnings. The injured person should verify the losses he has suffered as a result of the injuries.
For that purpose, he may produce a letter or statement from his employer, tax returns, sick leave records, medical evidence showing that the injured person is unfit for work due to the injuries and any other document or proof which indicates the losses suffered by the injured person. If the injured person was self employed, verification from his accountant must be obtained.
