A blameless accident, as its name suggests, an accident for which no person can be blamed. A blameless accident can occur in a variety of ways. For instance, a driver suffering from a sudden illness, such as a heart stroke, may lose the control over his vehicle and may cause and accident. Also, if some unexplained and unexpected mechanical or vehicle failure transpires, the driver may lose control over the vehicle. Another instance is when the vehicle collides with an animal on the road. In all such instance, the operator of the vehicle cannot be made responsible for the accident for the reason that the accident occurs beyond his control. New South Wales law provides for personal injury compensation for those who are injured in blameless accidents on or after 1 October 20007.
