A compulsory recall notice may be used for many purposes. The minister may for example require the supplier to recall the consumer goods, disclose the defects in the consumer goods to the public and explain to the public how to dispose of the goods using a compulsory recall notice. It will also require the suppliers to replace the goods, repair the goods or refund the purchase price. The notice will usually advise the supplier on how to take action and deadlines for doing so. Once a recall notice is issued, the supplier must give notice to anyone who have already been supplied the consumer goods in question. A copy of that notice should be sent to the minister as well.
