I am living NSW, and I have registered a new name at the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, and used the new name on my new passport.
Now, my question is, do I have to change my driver's licence to the new name? And which regulation specified that?
The RTA website says "If you have changed your name and you want to change it on your driver licence and vehicle registration you will need to visit a registry and complete a Replacement Application form 1018, available to download online."
It seems to me, what the RTA website saying is, I don't have to, but only do it when I want to, so I can keep my old name on my driver's licence.
Am I right?
Many thanks in advance for anyone who can answer my question.
