When the medical practitioner fails to diagnose the condition of the patient appropriately and causes some injury to the patient, the medial practitioner can be sued on the basis of medical negligence. Misdiagnosis is also another common type of medical negligence. It includes failure to diagnose, delayed diagnose as well as incorrect diagnosis of the condition. As a result, the treatment the patient receives may not be sufficient, appropriate or timely. Some of the conditions which are frequently misdiagnosed include cancers, strokes,, meningitis, brain injury, neck fractures.
