Hi,
My ex husband and I have been separated for 12 months and I have filed for Divorce with Canberra Federal Magistrates Court, with a hearing set down for August 31 this year. My ex is engaged to another woman who is expecting his baby, yet he is being difficult where our divorce is concerned. He wouldn't do a joint application for divorce simply because it was what I wanted. So I lodged the application solely and now he tells me he might contest it. We have been separated for 12 months and there have been legal documents drawn up and stamped by the courts in regards to property settlement and our two children (both under 18). My question is, does he have any grounds to contest it at all? Is there any likelihood of him holding up proceedings or having any success in contesting the divorce? I've really had enough of his games and just want this ludicrous situation to come to an end.
Thanks,
