Hi
First message on here!
Split up with ex in April. Relationship over way before that, but we have two kids (6 & so wrestled with guilt for ages.
We are both now seeing other people. I have chosen not to introduce the kids to my boyfriend yet (who also has kids and is going through a divorce).
However, the ex told the kids almost immediately he got with his new girlfriend. He told them before he told me and then left me to deal with the fallout, but that's a whole other rant(!) She also has 2 young kids.
To get to the point: I am pleased he's with someone else (or at any rate I'm not jealous), BUT I cannot bear the thought of my kids being with them as a couple, playing happy (blended) families. It feels like my insides are being wrenched out - its such an extreme reaction.
Is this common? I feel like if my daughter comes home with eg. her hair plaited by the new girlfriend I will have to kill her (girlfriend, not daughter - I like my daughter). I have no reason to think the new girlfriend will do anything other than be Dad's girlfriend and be busy looking after her own kids - but I still cannot deal with it.
Anyone else had this?
