If a manufacturer has supplied defective goods and such defective goods have caused loss or damage to the consumer, the manufacturer may sue the supplier and recover compensation. A manufacturer is a person or business that makes or puts goods together, that has their name on the goods, or that import the goods, if the maker of such goods does not have an office in Australia. Injuries caused to the consumer as well as economic loss suffered by the consumer will be considered under damage and loss.
